Anibal Sanchez Signs Spring Break

Anibal Sanchez Starting Pitcher Detroit Tigers

This autograph was obtained in person, during the last game of Spring Training in Florida. Anibal Sanchez, was nice enough to come over and sign for his fans by the Detroit Tigers bench. These are the best seats in the stadium, very good access to the ball players, and if you are patient and nice enough they come over and sign. Autographs are always fun to obtain in person, my autographs are not for sale, but from time to time I do sell a few if I really want something else. Thanks for reading.

Tony Perez Hall Of Fame – Cincinnati Reds

Tony Perez – Hall Of Fame Autographed Bat

Miami Marlins FanFest, where fans come out and meet and greet Miami Marlins and baseball legends like Tony Perez, Cincinnati Reds great! I was able to meet Tony Perez and get his autograph on a mini Rawlings bat as well as pose for a few pictures.

What a great treat that was for me. Tony Perez has been around the Marlins organization ever since Wayne Huizuenga was the owner of the team. It is always special to see him, shake his hand and he is always available for an autograph. What a great spokesperson for MLB. The fact that he is a fellow Cuban, makes it more special for me.

Tino Martinez – 4 Time World Series Champ

NY Yankees 4 Time Champ – Tino Martinez

The World Baseball Classic has given us Floridians many opportunities to gather some of the best autographs available to anyone with the inclusion of the following teams battling for a title….Colombia, Canada, USA, and Dominican Republic. Team USA won, but we were able to get a glimpse of these other teams, and enjoy a few days, and some autograph hounding!

Many players obliged, and some didn’t. So you know if you seek autographs you take the good with the bad. Not too bad, a nice autograph of Tino Martinez, 4 time NY Yankees World Series Champ!

Jim Leyland Team USA Champions

Jim Leyland Team USA Manager

One of the highlights for my family and I this World Baseball Classic season, was meeting the manager of team USA. Jim Leyland was nice enough to sign this autograph for my kids and I. He was his usual grumpy self, but we watched Jim Leyland down here in Miami when he was the manager of the Marlins and led them to their first World Series Championship of the franchise, and we got to love Jim and his ways. Regardless, of his grumpy appearance, he was very nice and is very approachable. So if you want to add his autograph to your collection of autographed baseballs, I give Jim Leyland a thumbs up for the chance to meet him and talk to him. Congratulations on the victory Jim!!!

Star Wars Masterwork February 2015

Star Wars Masterwork

Like any product of late, in my opinion, the February 2015 release of Topps Star Wars Masterwork disappointed me. The heavy price did not produce the quality I was expecting. I know many people might think the lack of a large hit may be the reason for my sour grapes, but I assure you it is not. The main reason is because I am a collector and not a seller! I do sell product from time to time, the main reason is for cash flow stream to purchase product that I want.

When the purchased product disappoints like the Star Wars Masterworks did for me. The cards are nice, hard to deny that but they lack the wow factor that a $250.00 should have. Sometimes as a collector, I purchase cards that I believe they may disappoint, and turn out to be a great product. Other times like (Star Wars Masterwork) the product is expensive, and they just do not pack the necessary punch.

In all the card I really wanted was the BOBA FETT autograph, and long and behold like the mighty Yoda, I willed one into my packs and was lucky enough to get the card I wanted. I am a huge BOBA FETT fan. So in that regard, I cannot claim the product was completely bad for me. But some of the 1 of 1 sketch cards were completely silly and horrible. I am going to list some of the pulls I had right here on this page, check it out:

NFL Memorabilia Out Sells The Rest!

NFL Memorabilia Out Sells The Rest!

Downtown Eddie Brown

NFL Memorabilia, my favorite autographed football jersey in my collection. It is not a Dan Marino, or Joe Montana, or even Emmitt Smith, no my favorite jersey bears the name “Brown”. Downtown Eddie Brown. Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver that led the Bengals to the 1988 Superbowl against the San Francisco 49ers.

Downtown Eddie Brown was a member of the 1983 Miami Hurricanes football team that upset the University of Nebraska in the 1984 Orange Bowl to earn Miami’s first National Championship ever.
The following year, Downtown Eddie Brown was named as a consensus first-team All-American and was the first WR in UM history to amass over 1,000 yards receiving, with 220 of those yards on only 10 catches that came in the famous “Hail Flutie” shootout with Boston College.

Downtown Brown would leave Miami setting school career records for receptions, receiving yards and receiving TDs. Eddie Brown was a first round draft pick in 1985, chosen number 13 over all by those same Cincinnati Bengals. Eddie Brown was taken after Al Toon of the NY Jets and before Jerry Rice, not a bad draft for wide-outs.

Playoff Jersey

About 17 years ago, I was luck enough to have obtained a game used playoff jersey by Downtown Eddie Brown, and have him sign it. Although this is not the most expensive of jerseys, it does have sentimental value, as I attended UM and forever he will be part of the first University of Miami National championship!

In 1985 he won the NFL Rookie of the Year Award, recording 53 catches for 942 yards and 8 touchdowns. In 1988, he recorded 53 receptions for 1,273 yards and 9 touchdowns, assisting the Bengals to a championship appearance in Super Bowl XXIII and earning him his first trip to the Pro Bowl. Downtown Brown continued to play for the Bengals until after the 1991 season. Brown finished his 7 NFL seasons with 363 catches for 6,134 yards and 41 touchdowns, along with 164 rushing yards.
