Pablo Sandoval – SF Giants

Second go around for Pablo Sandoval with the San Francisco Giants, this World Series Champ was more than willing to sign multiple autographs for his fans waiting outside Miami Marlins park, however he refused to sign “sweet spot” which was OK with me as I was attempting to get multiple autographs on a team ball, and did not want him to sign the sweet spot. He was more than willing to sign, so it was a plus for all of us out here on this crazy hot day in South Florida.

While the SF Giants were not the friendliest of teams, with quite a few players and coaches spurning us at the entrance, and Bruce Bochy being his usual friendly self, it was tough to say the least because most of the players did arrive on the team bus. However, we did get Sir Hensley Muelens who was nice enough to sign, look for the post with the card autographed by Mr. Muelens, I will post it shortly. Spring Training baseball is fun, and way more loose and personal than any MLB baseball game I have ever been to. The autographs come easier and everyone is laid back, at least the MLB stars. If you have never taken the time to come to Florida or visit Nevada for Spring Training baseball, you really are missing something special. I was able to meet some cool ball players that took the time to sign autographs, even thought they were not going to make the big league club immediately. Anibal Sanchez Signs Spring Break

Anibal Sanchez Starting Pitcher Detroit Tigers

This autograph was obtained in person, during the last game of Spring Training in Florida. Anibal Sanchez, was nice enough to come over and sign for his fans by the Detroit Tigers bench. These are the best seats in the stadium, very good access to the ball players, and if you are patient and nice enough they come over and sign. Autographs are always fun to obtain in person, my autographs are not for sale, but from time to time I do sell a few if I really want something else. Thanks for reading.

Tony Perez – Hall Of Fame Autographed Bat

Miami Marlins FanFest, where fans come out and meet and greet Miami Marlins and baseball legends like Tony Perez, Cincinnati Reds great! I was able to meet Tony Perez and get his autograph on a mini Rawlings bat as well as pose for a few pictures.

What a great treat that was for me. Tony Perez has been around the Marlins organization ever since Wayne Huizuenga was the owner of the team. It is always special to see him, shake his hand and he is always available for an autograph. What a great spokesperson for MLB. The fact that he is a fellow Cuban, makes it more special for me.

The World Baseball Classic has given us Floridians many opportunities to gather some of the best autographs available to anyone with the inclusion of the following teams battling for a title….Colombia, Canada, USA, and Dominican Republic. Team USA won, but we were able to get a glimpse of these other teams, and enjoy a few days, and some autograph hounding!

Many players obliged, and some didn’t. So you know if you seek autographs you take the good with the bad. Not too bad, a nice autograph of Tino Martinez, 4 time NY Yankees World Series Champ!

Jim Leyland Team USA Manager

One of the highlights for my family and I this World Baseball Classic season, was meeting the manager of team USA. Jim Leyland was nice enough to sign this autograph for my kids and I. He was his usual grumpy self, but we watched Jim Leyland down here in Miami when he was the manager of the Marlins and led them to their first World Series Championship of the franchise, and we got to love Jim and his ways. Regardless, of his grumpy appearance, he was very nice and is very approachable. So if you want to add his autograph to your collection of autographed baseballs, I give Jim Leyland a thumbs up for the chance to meet him and talk to him. Congratulations on the victory Jim!!!

In Person Autographs – Spotlight Bill Pulsipher

Bill Pulsipher – NY Mets Prospect

It is always very cool to get autographs in person, my collection is very extensive so it becomes very time consuming to post all the pics, but this is a daily love of mine and I am building this blog to help those autograph hounds out in anyway with information and tips on getting them.

On February 23, 2000, Pulsipher’s pregnant wife found him unconscious and barely breathing on their bathroom floor. Pulsipher was rushed to the hospital with paramedics assisting his breathing and doctors restoring his weak heartbeat. Pulsipher attributes the attack to a dietary supplement which contained ephedra. Three years later, Pulsipher was nearby when his Baltimore Orioles teammate Steve Bechler collapsed and died, also from ephedra. Ephedra was banned by the Food and Drug Administration in 2004.

It would have been very cool to have seen the Mets succeed with this pitcher as well as Scott Kazmir, Bobby Jones, as well as a few others, it was never meant to be. Other notable teams in which he played for: Milwaukee, Boston, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago White Sox…Wishing Bill Pulsipher the very best!
