MLB Detroit Tigers Matt Boyd Autograph

Matt Boyd Autographed MLB Official Baseball

Spring Training baseball is fun, and way more loose and personal than any MLB baseball game I have ever been to. The autographs come easier and everyone is laid back, at least the MLB stars. If you have never taken the time to come to Florida or visit Nevada for Spring Training baseball, you really are missing something special. I was able to meet some cool ball players that took the time to sign autographs, even thought they were not going to make the big league club immediately. Here is to having a successful autograph 2017 season! In addition, I am always adding plenty of ttm autographs, (through the mail). Till the next post…

2003-04 Bowman Rookies And Stars Basketball Cards

2003-04 Bowman Rookies And Stars Basketball Cards

The 2003 NBA Draft is being compared to the 1985 NBA Draft, I believe that in time, the 2003 NBA Draft will be the most lucrative draft the NBA League has seen in some time. The Big 3 in the NBA over the last 20 years or so were Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Charles Barkley. However they did not come out of the same draft. The exception was Magic Johnson, who was drafted in 1980 by the Los Angeles Lakers, boy it doesn’t seem like 28 years ago does it?

The 2003 NBA Draft has already netted (no pun intended) an NBA Champion in Dwyane Wade with the Miami Heat. Lebron “King” James who has already made it to the finals, and next up I believe could be Chris Bosh. I believed that Carmelo Anthony had a better chance prior and probably still does, but the loss of Allen Iverson should be a major impact on the team, even though the team chemistry just was not there with Allen Iverson.

Not many teams can function with that many ball hogs in the starting lineup, and their defense was suffering because of it, I guess that is the knock on Allen Iverson of late, and probably the same reason he will never achieve Michael Jordan status. Michael Jordan in his greatness, became the best teammate anyone could have, basically because he developed his teammates status around him and refined his already near perfect basketball skills, in the clutch it was him, but the sharing throughout the game was generous in nature, that made him elite.

Lebron James and Dwyane Wade have those Michael Jordan like qualities and skills to some degree, and do command the type of attention that was Jordan-esque, and has not been seen or merited in quite some time. Carmelo Anthony has flashes of greatness, but seems to struggle in the team concept part. We will see this year if the thorn in his side, was indeed Allen Iverson. Carmelo Anthony needs to step up and become the leader this team needs him to be.

Lebron James can and will make players around him better, but the cast needs to improve. I like the acquisition of Delonte West, a relentless ball pusher and runs the court very well. I need him to excel, I am sitting on a ton of his rookie cards, primarily Topps Chrome. Get it done Delonte West! The rest of the cast for Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are not very persuasive to me to make a realistic quest to the NBA championship.

The Boston Celtics will continue to dominate the league this year, barring any unfortunate injuries, If Lebron James and Company are going to task themselves with defeating the Boston Celtics, the cast needs to improve. A mid-season acquisition or two should do the trick. They also need another bench player, someone to give them some quality minutes off the bench.

Chris Bosh is going to need more help than Lebron James, but believe it or not, disagree you may, I believe the Toronto Raptors have a better bench than the Cleveland Cavaliers. Time will tell….

How Does Giants Vs. Tigers Help Garner Collectors To Baseball Cards?

How Does Giants Vs. Tigers Help Garner Collectors To Baseball Cards?

Well one could pose a question to get fans riled up between World Series Foes. But I ask you how does the Giants Vs. the Tigers gain any collector action for the sports card collecting industry? Just like the television ratings were down, so were card collecting and sports card sales for sure. After all there are plenty of marquee players on both teams to have some significant interest amongst collectors right? Well I do not think so. This years big winners were of course the rookie of the year nominees and winners. Mike Trout won AL Rookie of the Year in unanimous fashion, was there ever any doubt. And in the NL Rookie contest, Bryce Harper edged out Wade Miley and Todd Frazier for the award and honors. Mike Trout was basically doing what he did all season long for the Angels. Bryce Harper was a call up and never looked back.

Well what about Miguel Cabrera. He won the Triple Crown, and his fellow teammate pitcher Justin Verlander was once again superb this year, but kind of sputtered towards the end of a long season for the flame thrower. San Fran has their Tim Lincecum who also sputtered too much to be a starting factor in the World Series, showing us how really vulnerable the baseball season and its players can really be. One Series, World champ hero and another World Series outcast. Although he became a valuable set up man. He was little else. Hunter Pence became the acquisition of the year if you ask the S.F. Giants. A notable pickup that no doubt lifted the team to the World Series and above.

Baseball Cards Values And Starting Pitchers

Which leads me to my other point. Is it just me or do starting pitchers just not garner too much excitement from baseball card collectors? I know that back in the late 1990’s the likes of pitchers like Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, and even Roger Clemens just did not command much of a price on the collectors corner of the market. Sure they were sentimental favorites but not much else. Even Steven Strasburg cards can now be purchased for a song and dance compared to the original fanfare of the cards. So can anyone out there make a case for collecting rookie cards of starting pitchers in order to anyone to try and make a nice profit of any extra cards of such said pitcher. I cannot think of any. Hitters just always seem to outlast any favoritism that a pitcher may drum up. What are your thoughts? I would love to hear them.

Collecting Derek Jeter Baseball Cards

It is no longer a wonder why most baseball fans are keen on collecting Derek Jeter baseball cards as the value of these are attributed to one of the best players in the present Major league baseball of America. True enough, Derek Jeter is one of the most popular baseball players in the green diamond and has been compared to other great baseball players of the past. But still there are plenty of players with similar numbers, but never ever had the appeal that Derek Jeter has had. Although playing in pinstripes does never hurt.

1993 Upper Deck SP Baseball

It was in 1995 that he started his baseball career and ever since he has been making great waves. He has also been credited for leading his team to four World Series championships making the New York Yankees achieve its current high team status and greatness.

He has become so well- known that anyone who would like to gather information about him could just type in his name and obtain results from the Internet. He is also currently known as one of the most highly paid shortstop players in baseball of all time, a figure that could reach up to twenty two million. Just as well, the search for Derek Jeter baseball cards has surged a lot of hits in the web quite a lot recently, and his milestone homerun showed just why his attraction to fans everywhere is unheralded.

However, such immense popularity has also made it difficult in terms of obtaining Jeter baseball cards, most especially the earliest ones when he was still a rookie, or the ones which he have signed. Others bear the several hours waiting in the ballpark during batting practice just to have a card signed or know when Derek Jeter might hole a private autograph signing. Obtaining Jeter baseball cards is a matter that one should also carefully think about since the price could come to be a bit pricey. Such cards are usually worth the player in display and also the age with which it has survived.

Buying and Selling Baseball Cards

Buying and Selling Baseball Cards

Almost every card collector has collected Alex Rodriguez items at some point. He has been one of the most popular baseball players in the MLB in recent years. Collecting baseball cards is a form of art that requires the collector to know what cards are really valuable and which card are not. Most of the time when people collect baseball cards they are not sure which cards they should buy because they lack when it comes to knowledge. It doesn’t meant that you have to be an expert and you have to know the value of each and every single card but you do have to know how to tell the difference between cards that have some worth and card that don’t.

Also there are many tools you can use like baseball card prices guides which can give the most accurate estimates of what Alex Rodriguez cards are worth. Sports card collectors often collect cards that are graded because they have more value.

If you have your own baseball collection that is another thing you can do to increase the value of your cards. If you are still not sure what some of your cards are worth then you can check out some sites that have information about sports cards value.

This will help you get an idea of what a specific card is worth and how much you will be able to get for it. Once you have that figured out you can start selling the baseball cards you have. Buying and selling sports cards takes some work on your part but if you do everything that you need to do then you will benefit in the end and you will more than likely make some money with it. This is also a learning experience that will be very satisfying to anyone that loves baseball.

1992-93 Upper Deck Basketball Shaquille O’Neal Trade Rookie Card

1992-93 Upper Deck Basketball Shaquille O’Neal Trade Rookie Card

Welcome to a brief introduction to the world of one of the most special basketball cards of our generation.  Sports cards of a lifetime offer you a spotlight on the 1992-93 Upper Deck Shaquille O’Neal basketball rookie card number 1-b. If you’re a collector then you remember what a good day is was to hold one of these variation cards of the Shaquille O’Neal rookie card and they were numbered 1-b.

Respectfully the Shaquille O’Neal basketball card had a variation called the trade card.  Few basketball cards in my generation had the hype that this card had.  It was just something that everyone wanted. Boy did he live up to the hype, what was his mystic? Well multiple championships with the Los Angeles Lakers and that soured relationship with Kobe Bryant that just added to all of the fire, circulating what was a pretty incredible card, and a pretty incredible center and a shoe in the NBA hall of fame.

He turned out to be one of the most dominant centers in the NBA. The Shaq card was a trade card originally, just a shadow card of his image dunking the basketball. The main reason that this was issued like this was, because Upper Deck had an exclusive to reveal the first Shaq rookie card, and this was their clever way to insert the card before everyone else and violate any of the guidelines that were binding the sports card companies that produced Shaq cards in 1992-93.

At the end of the day, it was one of the hottest cards in 1992/93.  Graded versions of this card had reached $250 dollars at one time, and although it would not be as most expensive card of the 1990’s, it turned out to be one of the most popular and important cards of all time in the NBA. Shaquille O’Neal went on to win multiple championships and secure his legacy as a center in the NBA and hall of famer.
